Privacy Policy

Quizler ("we", "us", "our") is a free general knowledge trivia site. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to run the service.

Last updated: October 2026

Information we collect

  • Account information (signed-in users only). When you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We store these to identify your account and to show your name and picture where the service displays them, such as the leaderboard.
  • Learning progress. The quizzes you play, your answers and scores, and your streaks and totals. Without an account this stays in your browser (localStorage). With an account, or if you appear on the leaderboard, it is also stored in our database on Cloudflare D1, linked to your account or to a random anonymous ID.
  • Anonymous ID. If you are not signed in we generate a random identifier and store it in your browser so your progress can be saved and shown on the leaderboard. It contains no personal information.
  • Country. Cloudflare tells us the country your request comes from. We use it to show a flag next to leaderboard entries. We do not store your IP address.
  • Contact form. If you contact us, we receive your message and, if you choose to give it, your email address. We use these only to respond.
  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics (GA4) and PostHog to understand how the site is used: pages visited, features used, session length and approximate location.

How we use your information

  • To save your progress and show it across sessions and devices.
  • To show your name and totals on the public leaderboard.
  • To respond to your messages.
  • To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
  • To keep the service secure and prevent abuse, such as rate limiting.

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except the service providers listed below.

Google user data

We use Google sign-in only to identify you. We request your basic profile (name and picture) and email address, and we do not access your Google Drive, Gmail, contacts or any other Google data. Quizler's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Cookies and local storage

We use your browser's localStorage to keep your progress and anonymous ID on your device. When you sign in, a session cookie keeps you signed in. Google Analytics and PostHog may set cookies to measure usage. You can clear cookies and localStorage at any time in your browser settings; clearing localStorage resets progress that is not saved to an account.

Your rights and choices

You can ask us to delete your account and the data linked to it at any time. Leaderboard entries (display name, total and country flag) are public while they exist, and you can ask us to remove yours.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights under data protection law, including access, correction, deletion and portability of your data. Contact us to use any of these rights.

Children

Quizler is not directed at children under 13, and you must be at least 13 to sign in. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Data retention

We keep your account and progress data for as long as your account exists. Data tied only to an anonymous ID is kept until you ask us to remove it or it is no longer needed. Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to respond.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
